The Now Habit
The Now Habit by Neil Fiore has already helped me increase my productivity, and I have hardly had time to make these habits become instinctual. The way this book explains the mental process behind procrastination is empowering. Procrastination often leads to feelings of insignificance and vulnerability. Even though much of these issues are known to be self-inflicted we’re not often consciously aware of what we should do about it.
In this book Neil Fiore does the job of bringing to light the mental process that is happening behind the scenes of procrastination and illustrates changes that can be made to reform your habits. You are able to take more control of your life when learning the habits that Fiore speaks about such as, how to talk to yourself, guilt-free play, overcoming blocks to action, and working in the flow state, among others.
This book is not only about increasing your output and doing better at work. It is about improving your overall quality of life in and out of the working environment. By learning, practicing, and implementing these habits, the quality of everything you do will be certain to improve. If you have difficulty focusing on your tasks, enjoying yourself away from work, or finding the time to get things done and still enjoy your life, The Now Habit should be added to your shelf.
